Cow Dog Rescue

Cow Dog Rescue is a 501C3 non-profit organization in San Angelo and Sonora serving West and Central Texas. We are dedicated to rescuing abandoned and homeless dogs, dogs in danger of abuse or neglect, as well as dogs in public shelters facing euthanasia. We strive to work with local shelters and other rescue organizations in our community to develop a network of supporters and volunteers. We aim to fight the mistreatment of animals and educate the public on importance of spaying and neutering.

We place dogs in loving, responsible, and committed homes through our comprehensive adoption process. This includes personal references, a veterinarian reference, as well as home visits to ensure each dog is adopted to a safe environment. We also take extensive care in finding a good match for each dog. Each prospective adopter is educated about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives before the application is approved.

Dogs taken into our rescue receive all appropriate veterinary care and are placed in nurturing foster homes until they are adopted. Before being eligible for adoption, each dog is heartworm negative, sterilized, up to date on all vaccines, and micro-chipped. We proudly assist dogs in need without regard to age, breed, or ease of placement.
