Who We Are

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry has been serving the Pike County community for over 30 years. We are committed to addressing the ongoing need for food security in Pike County. We endeavor to do this one person at a time, one family at a time, one day at a time. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, sex, age or disability. No family is ever turned away empty handed or denied help. An average of 250 people from the Pike County area utilize the services of the food pantry each month.
In 2018, we expanded the storage area of the food pantry to help meet the growing need for food in our community. We were the recipients of a $50,000 grant provided through the Local Share Account as well as an additional $100,000 through the generosity of a member of the Holy Trinity Luther Church congregation. We are now able to increase our food capacity and assist more families. This would not be possible if it had not been for the support received from the community.
Holy Trinity Food Pantry continues to help supplement food for over 90 families each month. Each family receives three bags of non-perishable foods, one bag of frozen meat and vegetables, personal care items and paper products. About 98% of our families are at or below the median family income for Pike County with 2% just above. During the COVID-19 pandemic we have seen an increase of families utilizing our services. 98% of these new families have at least one child under the age of 17 and who also received free or reduced meals in school. We do our best to supply families in our community with additional food items to help ease the burden of providing meals for their family. Your donation will allow us to purchase more food to help supplement what we already give to the families who come to the pantry. We will be able to provide healthy and nutritious foods as well.
