Highland Oaks Middle School (HOM) is a public school in the North Miami Beach area with over 775 students in grades 6-8. HOM is proud to have an award winning Music program with strings, orchestra, percussion, band, and chorus, a specialized Visual Arts program, Cambridge International, many middle school sports teams, and numerous after school extracurricular clubs. HOM has a thriving gifted department as well as a dedicated special education department. Additionally, HOM was awarded a Silver STEAM designation in 2019 and a National PTA School of Excellence designation 2020-2022.
The reality at HOM is that the majority of the students come from low socio-economic households, with 64% of the school on the free or reduced-priced lunch program. Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials. Teachers struggle to give their students what they need to be successful. That's where PTSA strives to help.
PTSA raises money in various creative ways and gives back to the school through student rewards and incentives, student supplies and support, teacher grants for class programs, teacher appreciation and support, educational programming, technology upgrades and repairs, food pantry donations for its families in need, and capital improvements. PTSA also promotes communication and outreach through social media and email, gets the community involved, and tries to make the school a positive and engaging place to attend school.
Your contributions will help the PTSA give back more to the students and teachers at Highland Oaks Middle School.
