Who We Are
Hope Collaborative's mission is to inspire hope in children and families by loving them through purposeful relationships.
In partnership with the local church, we implement initiatives focusing on youth and family mentoring, neighborhood community engagement, refugee and immigrant services, mental health, and missions training to bring hope and healing to our community. All of our programs are trauma-sensitive to help children and families heal from difficult life situations.
Our Programs
We currently provide three programs to meet the needs of our community:
The first is our Public School Outreach Program, which mobilizes members of local churches to serve in public schools as mentors and volunteers. We currently have mentors in 96 school districts, including Oldham County, Jefferson County, Hardin County, Bullitt County, Greater Clark County, New Albany/Floyd County, and more. We are excited to say that there was a 60% increase in mentors engaged, a 134% increase in schools serviced, and a 29% increase in districts reached last year. In the 2023-24 school year, three out of four mentees improved in at least one of three areas: behavior, grades, and/or attendance. In the upcoming 2024-25 school year, we look forward to increasing this impact thanks to the dedication of over 150 mentors who meet weekly with their mentee groups.
The second program, Hope Place, provides outreach and services to meet the needs of the South Louisville community. Activities at Hope Place include youth after-school and summer programs, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, and community events. In our Hope Place After-School Program last year, 70% of students showed social, emotional, and behavioral growth. During the 2023-24 school year, 11,400 meals were served to students thanks to our partnership with Dare to Care.
Finally, in partnership with the Administrative Offices of Courts - Department of Family and Juvenile Services, we offer Court Diversion Workshops for youth who have been charged with low-level misdemeanor offenses. Our workshops meet at our community center, Hope Place, as well as in Oldham County and West Louisville. Workshops are eight weeks long, and discussions center around what a healthy community looks like and how to make wise choices as a part of that community. Upon completion of the Program, 50% of students reported an increase in their desire to change as a person.
By giving to Hope Collaborative, you are spreading hope and healing to those in our community who need it most.
