Hope Ranch of Missouri

Vision: Hope Ranch of Missouri will create new realities for children traumatized by abuse and victimized through neglect. We will provide an environment where they can learn healthy ways of living, appropriate ways of dealing with stress, and new ways of thinking. We will teach them that the past is not to find them. They have the power to choose who they want to be in the ability to create their own future. We will give them a place to heal and grow, to develop their self-worth, to find value in becoming productive members of our community.

Our 5 pillars include:
1. Housing - The Hope Ranch will be a licensed residential center with unique, family-style housing.
2. Education - The Hope Ranch On-site School will instill feelings of hope, confidence, and purpose
3. Counseling - Students will receive counseling to learn how to manage their own emotions and behaviors.
4. Service - Shifting focus to the needs of others, develops healthy perspectives and positive attitudes.
5. Spiritual -We teach, with no specific doctrine, that all are unique, important, and worthy of love.

At Hope Ranch of Missouri, we will implement the Teaching Family Model (TFM). This is an evidence-based, trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and comprehensive method of helping young people make sense of their world by using interactions with them as teaching moments. Young people are learning all the time, whether being consciously taught or not. TFM training brings this learning/teaching to a conscious and continuous experience for both student and teacher, allowing youth to learn the social skills they need to function effectively as adults. A Teaching Family Association member organization trains and mentors new member organizations over 2-3 years to ensure the purity of the program tenets, careful collection of meaningful statistics, excellent staff training, and ethical and compassionate treatment of clients.
