This year, all funds raised with Give for Good Louisville Day will support our new Inpatient Care Center, set to break ground in 2025.

For a hospice patient, the clinical feeling at a hospital can be challenging. In addition, because traditional hospitals are built to serve a variety of patients in all conditions and stages of health, families may become frustrated by visitation limitations.

Hosparus currently provides hospital-level care through our Inpatient Care Center, located on the top floor of a former hospital in downtown Louisville. Despite efforts to make the current space feel more home-like, the unit still feels institutional and is viewed by patients and their families as being part of a hospital, leading to underutilization. The current downtown location is not convenient to most, as driving downtown can add stress to an already stressful situation, and parking and navigation of the facility can be difficult and time-consuming.

The new Inpatient Center, part of our Louisville campus expansion, has been intentionally designed not to look or feel like a hospital. The site, at 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive, is centrally located, easily accessible, and provides a tranquil neighborhood setting while still being near amenities, such as restaurants, lodging, and shopping. The Care Center includes:

• 21 patient rooms
• a chapel
• meditation area
• spaces for families to hold celebrations and gatherings

We serve hospice patients and their loved ones during the most challenging times. With a focus on comfort, dignity, and respect, this facility caters to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those at the end of life's journey, ensuring a peaceful and supportive environment for all.

With the help of over 600 employees and 500 volunteers, the organization supports more than 10,000 patients and families every year.
