House of Ruth provides affordable housing and support services for people with HIV/AIDS and their families who are homeless, at risk of losing their homes, or need financial help to empower these individuals to be more self-reliant to live a healthier, safer, and more equitable life.

We do this through a continuum of services:

  • Emergency shelter
  • Short and long-term housing
  • Mental health counseling
  • Advocacy for clients
  • Basic needs assistance - food, rent, utilities, public transportation, and back-to-school support

House of Ruth is the only local agency that offers housing exclusively for low-income households where someone is HIV-positive. In addition, we also offer support services that help clients learn how to manage their HIV-positive status and ensuing medical needs. Ultimately, our goal is to help families to become self-supporting, both financially and socio-emotionally, thereby increasing their quality of life.
