Our Story: It’s All Love Assisting Through Action (IALATA)
"Not your ordinary pantry"
Founded in April 2025, It’s All Love Assisting Through Action Inc. (IALATA) is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit rooted in compassion, dignity, and community resilience. We were born out of crisis—responding to the pandemic’s aftermath, the ongoing immigration surge, and deepening food insecurity across Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Crown Heights.
We are more than a pantry. We are a pantry without borders, delivering not just food, but hope, autonomy, and connection. Through mobile and pop-up distributions, we meet people where they are—schools, senior centers, transitional housing, and trusted community spaces—ensuring that no one is left behind.
Why Now?
In 2025, food insecurity in Brooklyn is at a breaking point. Families are forced to choose between rent and groceries. Seniors stretch fixed incomes. Immigrant neighbors face language and access barriers. And now, with the changes to SNAP benefits nationwide, millions—including children and older adults—have lost access to critical food assistance.
This federal freeze has intensified hunger across our neighborhoods. Schoolchildren arrive without breakfast. Seniors skip meals. Working families face empty fridges. Traditional safety nets are strained, and the need for community-driven solutions has never been more urgent.
IALATA is stepping up—because our neighbors can’t wait.
Our Programs
We currently operate two targeted mobile pantry initiatives, each designed to meet urgent needs with dignity and care:
Senior Mobile Pantry
Delivers curated pantry packages directly to older adults through:
-
Door-to-door deliveries for those with mobility challenges
-
On-site distributions at senior housing complexes
Each package includes nourishing, age-appropriate foods that support health and independence.
Student Mobile Pantry
Partners with The Flex Dance Program to combine:
-
Creative expression through dance, building confidence and community
-
Accessible food distribution, ensuring students receive the nutrition they need
Together, we’re breaking the stigma around hunger and nurturing both physical and emotional well-being.
What’s Next?
To meet growing demand and eliminate our waitlist, we’re launching three new initiatives:
-
Community Refrigerator Network – 24/7 access to fresh food through publicly stocked fridges in trusted locations
-
Client-Choice Community Store – A dignified, store-like setting where families choose foods that fit their needs
-
“We’re Outside” Mobile Response – Early morning breakfast distributions to schools and housing sites, ensuring kids start their day nourished

- Sustain and scale our mobile pantry programs
- Launch our new initiatives and secure a permanent facility
- Eliminate our waitlist and serve more seniors, students, and families
- Respond to the SNAP crisis with immediate, localized support
Every dollar helps us deliver not just food—but dignity, consistency, and care.
Together, we can build a more food-secure Brooklyn. One meal, one neighbor, one act of love at a time.
In total, we have successfully served 1389 individuals through our events during this period.
