Ivy Charitable Endowment of Pittsburgh Inc.

A nonprofit organization

The Ivy Charitable Endowment of Pittsburgh, Inc. (ICE) exists to provide support to programs that assist in the growth and development of the African American community. The mission, vision and values of ICE are strategically aligned to support the following three (3) Target Program and Grant Areas: (1) EMPOWER: Empowering Women and Girls; (2) STRENGTHEN: Scholarship and Profession Strengthening; and (3) ADVOCATE: Brand and Community Awareness.

The Signature Event of ICE is the "Precious to Cultured Pearls Cotillion," which debuts the talents of Pittsburgh regional young ladies and and young men. More than 20 young ladies grades 11 and 12 participate as debutantes in the biennial event.

Additionally, ICE sponsors a Saturday enrichment program, "Pearl AKAdemy" for middle school-aged young ladies. Our focus is on academic and personal enrichment, and leadership development. The program expenses include instructional stipends, materials and curriculum-specific activities. Each school year, our Pearl AKAdemy Tea hosts young ladies (Grades 5 - 8) that participated in enrichment program as well as their parents. The young ladies share their school year accomplishments, Tea Etiquette Tips are shared, and all in attendance experience a wonderful "Chew and Chat" session.
