Japan America Society of St. Louis

2018 is a year of new leadership for the Japan America Society of St. Louis. Founded in 1967 "to promote the exchange, friendship, and better understanding between the people of Japan and the U.S.," JAS-STL has provided authentic Japanese experiences and fostered business networks and relationships for half a century. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit, non-partisan, educational and cultural organization governed by a board of 20+ elected members. International Studies & Programs at UMSL provides office space and institutional support for the Society.

JAS offers nine annual programs each calendar year. They are scheduled throughout the year, and include a range of events from business/economic forums, cultural events, and social programs:
January - New Year's Celebration (Shinnenakai)
February/March - Spring Japan Update
May - Japanese Cultural presentations at the Missouri History Museum and St. Louis Art Museum
June - Trivia Fundraiser
August/September - Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden
September - Fund-raising golf tournament
September/October - Fall Japan Update
November - Annual Dinner/General Meeting
December - JAS Night at the Ballet: The Nutcracker
