Through collections, research, exhibits, and programs, we bring people together to share, learn, and be inspired by Jefferson County arts and heritage.
Your support of local arts, history, and storytelling helps us serve our community with inspiring experiences at our museum and throughout Jefferson County all year long!
We’re thrilled to share some highlights and accomplishments from 2022 below and we hope you’ll celebrate with us as we close out this year and look ahead to the next.
You can help us build on this success with a year-end gift to JCHS.
2022 by the numbers (so far!)
Major Milestones
We completed two critical exterior maintenance projects at the Rothschild House with the replacement of its roof and gutters earlier this year.
We also completed the first comprehensive audit of our collection to identify missing and misrepresented communities and experiences. Before the end of the year, work will be underway to start filling some of these gaps in our collection!
Jefferson County Historical Society (JCHS) has operated the Jefferson Museum of Art & History in Port Townsend’s 1892 Historic City Hall since 1951. JCHS also manages two historic house museums in partnership with Washington State Parks and a publicly accessible Research Center, where we care for and provide access to the 500,000+ objects in our museum collection.
