Jewish Assistance Fund

A nonprofit organization

$36,070 raised by 204 donors

Founded in 1985, the mission of the Jewish Assistance Fund (JAF) is to provide immediate financial assistance, without expectation of repayment, to Jewish people in western Pennsylvania who have limited resources and are in need of emergency support for food, clothing, housing, utilities, transportation and medical necessities.

The Jewish Assistance Fund provides grants, without repayment, to local Jewish individuals and families experiencing financial insecurity. They are challenged with putting food on the table, clothing themselves and their children, paying their rent, utilities, accessing medical care, and costly prescriptions. With the community's support, we respond quickly with our volunteers meeting with applicants weekly, throughout the year.
