Joint Neighborhood Ministry

A nonprofit organization

For nearly 50 years, Joint Neighborhood Ministry (JNM) has been able to provide significant supportive services to community members who struggle for self-sufficiency by being on the front line in the critical fight against poverty for some of the most economically challenged neighborhoods in South St. Louis City. Each individual who walks through our door faces significant challenges, which often include inadequate health care and lack of stable resources, including food, clothing, housing and transportation. Our vision is to continue a long standing tradition of helping our most vulnerable neighbors who are poverty stricken, unemployed or underemployed, and marginalized while empowering our community to live into their full potential. Our primary goals are to feed the hungry, offer food assistance to homebound seniors and people with disabilities; provide financial assistance to maintain life necessities; care and advocate for those who have health issues as well as offer programs that encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Of the 16,000+ individuals who participate annually in at least one of our programs and services, such as: JNM Food Pantry, Senior Food Delivery Program, Family Advocate, JNM Full Circle/Representative Payee Program, Back to School Program, Christmas Program and Urban Mission Experience Program, 41% are children and more than 15% are seniors over the age of 55.
