Guided by the rich liberal arts tradition and teachings of the Catholic Church, the education at St. John Paul II Academy inspires a deep appreciation for beauty, a desire to pursue goodness, and a love for the truth.

St. John Paul II Academy is an independent school, grades K-12, in south Midtown Omaha.  We partner with parents to form young men and women fully alive through an integrated classical curriculum, with a special emphasis on engaging the world and its Creator through field trips, outdoor education and the arts.  Our students learn more than just the skills necessary for success in college and careers.  Their growth in virtue, knowledge, and wisdom helps them to discover their talents and equips them to become dynamic leaders firmly rooted in the Catholic faith.  From our Kindergarten Montessori Atrium to our Upper School Socratic discussions, from music and choir lessons to philosophy and geometry classes, and from reverent participation in Mass to energetic field games and house competitions, the goal of integrating the Liberal Arts into the JPII curriculum is for students to become clear-minded, joyful men and women of action and good character.  We talk about forming highly capable, very dangerous forces for good.

With your help, we are better able to:

  • Support the growth of our dedicated faculty and staff - To ensure our students are receiving the highest caliber education, our teachers attend formation events throughout the year, including the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education (ICLE) Conference, The Art of Teaching Conference at The Heights, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Training.

  • Provide resources for family formation - We partner with families to ensure the flourishing of their young men and women. From our highly acclaimed Fatherhood Series to Coffee with the Headmaster, we provide families with resources to continue to form their children outside of school hours.

  • Fill our libraries with great books - Our students are voracious readers, and your support helps us provide them with classic literature, like The Tales of Beatrix Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer, and more!

  • Nourish our students’ spiritual life - The Catholic faith is deeply integrated into a JPII education, and you can cover supplies (bread, wine, etc.) and priest stipends for a whole year of school Masses.

  • Send our students on outdoor leadership field trips - To Schramm Park and Fontenelle Forest, and beyond! In the past, we have been blessed to take our upper school students on several wilderness trips, including to Moab, UT with COR Expeditions. We are planning several upcoming trips and pilgrimages, including DC for the March for Life, the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, and Rome!

Help us "open wide the doors for Christ"
As an independent school, St. John Paul II Academy receives no federal or state assistance, nor does it receive financial support from a diocese.  To keep a JPII education accessible to as many families as possible, tuition and fees don't cover operating expenses.  Instead, JPII relies on the generous support of its families, friends and benefactors.  All gifts to St. John Paul II Academy are tax-deductible and contribute to the school's long-term financial stability.  You can help support this mission in two ways:

  1. Make a gift - an investment in the lives of young people - through this website by May 7, 2025.
We are also happy to accept donations by cash or check.  We will add it to our #iGiveCatholic totals manually so your gift still counts toward our goal!
