K9 Konnection

K9 Konnection's mission is to provide care and necessary medical attention for pets waiting to be re-united or re-homed and see that their need to be stimulated mentally, physically and emotionally is fulfilled on a daily basis to the best of our ability.

K9 Konnection is a dog rescue located in Wickenburg Arizona that takes in stray or lost dogs, accepts surrenders of all ages, neglected or abused, in need of medical attention or lost their home due to outside factors.

K9 Konnection opened its doors and began taking in stray and abandoned dogs in July 2016, after years of no resources for lost or abandoned dogs locally. Until July 1, 2016, if you lived in the Wickenburg area and your dog became frightened and lost, there was a high probability that if your pet was retrieved by the local authorities, it would be transported to an overcrowded county shelter 65 miles away in Phoenix AZ. The troubling issue this created was that the chances of recovering your pet were minimal or unlikely. Thanks to the support of the community and the efforts of many volunteer hours of work, this is no longer the case. Wickenburg and the surrounding areas have K9 Konnection.

Since we began our dog rescue, we have re-homed, reunited and cared for over 2500 dogs, assisted over 50 local residents with food and veterinary care for their dogs, and saved over 25 dogs from being euthanized by other facilities.

Our current services and programs are supported primarily and depend heavily on donations and some grants. The Shelter Program accepts surrenders, stray or lost dogs . In the shelter we provide a safe, enriching and loving environment for dogs who are waiting for their forever home, or dogs waiting to be reunited with their lost parents. Upon arrival to the shelter, each dog receives a medical and behavioral evaluation and care that continues while residing in the shelter. Our organization relies on volunteers to assist in routine dog socialization, love and stimulation each day and assist in the mental and emotional well-being of our four legged residents. Our Adoption Program is where our adoptable dogs who have been medically and behaviorally cleared for adoption fall into. They are living primarily in foster homes or at the shelter depending on foster home availability. Adoption Program has a minimum of one weekly adoption event and in many cases allows for private meet and greets. The Health and Wellness Program is a collaboration effort with a local vet, Police Dept. and business sponsors. It is a community resource for individuals struggling to take care of their pets physical and nutritional needs. We assist community members with food, medical and behavioral services which allow for their pets to continue to live in the home.
