OUR MISSION:

Over the past 30+ years, the mission of Katie's Kids Camp has been to connect kids from all walks of life to Jesus. Our mission is achieved year after year through fun, recreation, relationships, and worship.

OUR STORY:

Our camp has been in operation since 1992, and we adopted the name Katie's Kids Camp in 2003 in memory of Katie Sue Kucharski. Katie was a little girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer at the age of three and was selected as the poster child for the American Red Cross in 1999. Katie dreamed of going to camp and experiencing it just like other kids did, and she got that chance in 1999. Katie loved the camp and could not wait to return the following year; however, on January 2, 2000, Katie lost her five-year battle and went to heaven to be with Jesus. The camp continues in her name, and we are grateful for all those who get to experience camp the same way Katie did!

The camp is located in Byers, TX, approximately 20 miles north of Wichita Falls. The camp is located on 60 acres where campers are housed in air-conditioned dorms, dine in the gym, and have services in the Student Center. The property also has sand volleyball, basketball courts, and access to outdoor games. Campers are transported to other local activities during camp as well.

HOW DO YOUR DONATIONS HELP?

As you can imagine, operating week long kid's camps is not inexpensive. It's not uncommon to see camps across Texas and Oklahoma exceed more than $500/week for campers to attend. In order to provide an amazing week of camp for kids from all walks of life, we are committed to keeping our costs as low as possible. A week of camp at Katie's Kids Camp starts at only $80 thanks to our amazing donors, volunteers, and partners like Texoma Gives! This amount is not anywhere close to what it actually costs per camper for us to operate a week of camp, let alone overhead expenses and upgrades. Your donations, along with our other donors, partners, and volunteers, allow us to improve our camp experiences while keeping our camper registration costs low enough for kids from all walks of life to have the best week of their summer! 

WHERE DO YOUR DONATIONS GO? 

Thanks to the generosity of donors giving to our camp through Texoma Gives last year, we were able to purchase 150 new mattresses, a new gaga ball pit, and 4 new tandem kayaks for campers last summer! THANK YOU!! This year's Giving Day donations will help us keep camper costs affordable, and allow us to add the following items to enhance our camp experience!
