Keyway offers services in four key areas shown to reduce recidivism in women: housing stability, financial security, emotional wellness and community re-engagement. Founded in 1997, Keyway (formerly CWIT) has assisted over 2,840 justice-involved women live safe, productive lives in the St. Louis region. Keyway provides comprehensive wrap-around services to women living in three transitional homes, one permanent supportive housing facility, and in scattered-site homes throughout the community. Services include housing navigation, vocational training, mental health services, life skills courses, mentor partnerships, individualized case management, and more. In 2024, less that 2% of Keyway participants were reincarcerated within one year of program enrollment, 78% obtained employment, 68% maintained sobriety, and 69% reported a reduction in trauma symptoms."

Mission

Keyway empowers women, strengthens families, and transforms communities. Nearly 44% of women released from prison in MO return to incarceration within 2 years. Keyway: Center for Diversion and Reentry's mission is to advocate for and assist women in the criminal justice system to support their successful transition to family and community.
