Khmer Community of Seattle King County

A nonprofit organization

Mission

The mission of KCSKC is to empower the Khmer community by bridging the intergenerational gap between elders and youth, through cultural preservation and promoting well-being.

Description

Khmer Community of Seattle King County (KCSKC) is Washington State's oldest Khmer-serving non-profit, established in White Center in the early 1980s. Today, KCSKC serves elders, youth, and others in the Khmer community through direct services and programming. In the fall of 2019, we were displaced due to our lease ending and building sold; we have been serving community without a location since then, while COVID-19 has significantly increased our case load and number of families served. We connect one-on-one with Khmer elders to build trusting relationships, organize culturally responsive food distributions for families in need, and host youth programming virtually to maintain connection.
