The Lackawanna River Conservation Association (LRCA) is an environmental nonprofit that works to restore, conserve, and protect the Lackawanna River and its watershed resources. Our mission is to involve citizens with conservation and stewardship of the river and its tributaries.

We connect with local communities through outreach engagements, special fundraising events, and educational programs. We create partnerships with stakeholders for special river-related projects and initiatives.

The goals defining our nonprofit are to clean up and conserve the river environment, aid in the development of the 40-mile Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, create stakeholder partnerships, and promote environmental education, conservation studies, and research.

Your support for our nonprofit also aids the work of our land trust affiliate, the Lackawanna Valley Conservancy (LVC). To preserve natural areas in the watershed, the LVC works to acquire and protect natural areas in the watershed.
