Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier - LEAF

The Lake Erie Arboretum is home to over 1,200 trees, a collection that grows in interest and diversity each year. 

We serve as the nonprofit partner for Frontier Park, a city park in the heart of Erie, Pennsylvania that is affectionately referred to as “the Central Park of Erie.”

LEAF strives to generate a greater awareness of the importance of trees to our lives through its mission of creating educational opportunities and outdoor experiences for our community.

Why donate to LEAF? There are MANY reasons-- here are just a few:

ReLeaf is LEAF's initiative to plant one tree for EACH citizen in Erie! Now in its sixth year, our ReLeaf efforts have brought thousands (nearly 80,000!) of trees to citizens, schools, local organizations, and more. Supporting LEAF is a way to help us plant these trees AND a way to care for our environmental future.

Continue LEAF’s Open Market. Our Open Markets support local farmers, small businesses, and community partners! This is our sixth Market season, and we are happy to report that these events GROW every year. Your support on Erie Gives Day supports the Open Markets and, in turn, local products and sellers.

Did you know that LEAF provides FREE TREES and educational programming to Erie's Public Schools? We are always ready to plant trees at Erie schools, and we LOVE to teach students about tree care!

LEAF is Frontier Park's nonprofit partner, and our staff works to maintain and beautify the park almost 365 days a year! Frontier Park has seen so many great developments over the years, and we plan on creating even more exciting additions in the years to come. Supporting LEAF means supporting a beloved local park and its diligent caretakers.

LEAF Gives Back. LEAF's home base might be Frontier Park, but our reach extends far across Erie County - and beyond! LEAF provides employment and internship opportunities for Erie youth, collaborates with local organizations on environmental projects, supports the sustainability efforts of nearby universities, and works closely with the City of Erie to plant new trees. The LEAF staff is proud to call Erie home, and even more proud to make our home a better place.
