Lamar County Humane Association

A nonprofit organization

The Lamar County Humane Association is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, to relieve suffering of animals, and to educate the public in the humane care and treatment of animals. In carrying out this mission, LCHA members work closely with the City of Paris to find homes for cats and dogs in the city's animal shelter. Currently, 4,000+ animals pass through the shelter each year; approximately 500 animals are adopted.

The LCHA members and volunteers fight everyday to stop the endless battle of animal dumping into the city's animal shelter. The LCHA works daily to educate everyone possible to be responsible pet owners by teaching people the benefits of spaying and neutering all cats and dogs. This helps in two ways: it will benefit the health of your pet and it helps benefit the work that we do as a group by reducing the number of overpopulation. Please help us make a difference, the sweet souls of every animal that comes in these doors, deserve more than their life being reduced to abbreviations on an intake card.
