League of Women Voters of Louisville, Inc

For over 100 years,the League of Women Voters (LWVL) of Louisville has been informing and empowering voters.   

The LWVL, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government.  We help MAKE DEMOCRACY WORK  by empowering voters with information.  The League works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy.  As a nonpartisan organization, the League takes action on issues but does not support or oppose candidates or parties.  The LWVL supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in membership and programming. Membership is open to all persons interested in our work.   It is an all volunteer organization with a part-time administrative staff.  Now, more than ever, your support of the League of Women Voters is crucial.

ORGANIZING PUBLIC MEETINGS WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS

HOLDING COMMUNITY FORUMS – The League holds free monthly public forums to increase understanding on major public issues such as constitutional rights, housing, education, crime, health care and other subjects.  

PRODUCING  A CITIZEN’S GUIDE –The League produces a "Citizen's Guide" filled with information  about how to contact your elected officials.
