Legacy Donor Foundation

Legacy Donor Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to save and heal lives by inspiring Louisiana residents to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. We accomplish this through education, outreach and advocacy. We envision a culture where all Louisiana citizens are committed to giving LIFE through organ, eye and tissue donation.

When Legacy Donor Foundation was founded in 1999, just 450,000 names were on Louisiana's Organ Donor Registry. Today, thanks to unwavering support and life-saving awareness efforts, that number has grown to over 2.8 million. But our work isn't done.

More than 2,000 Louisianans are now waiting for a second chance at life. One donor can save up to 8 lives, restore sight to 2 and heal up to 75 others through tissue donation. Your generosity fuels our mission to educate, inspire and grow the donor registry-bringing hope to those in need.
