Livingston Food Resource Center

A nonprofit organization

The Livingston Food Resource Center's mission is to increase nutrition security and overall well-being in our community by addressing the root causes of hunger. Nutrition security goes beyond simply providing food-it's about investing in the long-term health and strength of our community. Ensuring access to fresh, nutrient-dense, and culturally relevant food means our neighbors, families, and children have what they need to not just survive, but thrive. This work is a commitment to the future. It's an investment in the well-being of every person we serve. Not all food solves hunger-nutrition security ensures every bite counts towards a healthier life.

We are committed to maximizing every dollar entrusted to us. As a rural county we must purchase over 50% of the food we distribute (compared to just 11% for our urban counterpoints). That means every dollar matters, and we work hard to stretch it as far as possible:

- 83¢ of every $1 goes directly to programs

- 188 volunteers contribute over 4,000 hours of service

         - That makes our staff to volunteer ratio 1:33, an exponential investment of donor funds

         - An in-kind value of over $100,000

Through 12 programs, we meet people where they are, serving families, seniors, and children across Park County; Food Pantry, Mobile Pantries, Pantry Supper Club, Summer Lunch in the Parks, Backpack Buddies, School Pantries, Senior Commodities, Thanksgiving Baskets, Community Kitchen, Kamut for Community Bread Program, Counseling & System Navigation, and Elevating Neighbors.

Testimonials

“I live in Livingston with my husband and two young daughters (ages 5 and 1). As costs of living continue to rise, the LFRC has been an essential source of support for our family. We’ve been able to provide our family with healthy, nourishing meals. We come to the food pantry nearly every week to help supplement some of our groceries. Being able to cook healthy meals for my family is such a blessing. The LFRC is making a positive impact on my family and so many others in the community.” - Cheyenne, 37 (client)

“When students take a bag of food home there is a sense of relief as they walk out the door. Relief that they have food, but also relief that there are people and organizations willing to help them.” - Justin Pond, PHS Assistant Principal

"I keep coming back for the people - the clients that come into the pantry to shop, the other volunteers that I work with and have formed friendships with and of course the awesome staff of LFRC! I volunteer in the Food Pantry and the displays of gratitude and thankfulness shown by all the clients that shop each week is overwelming. It’s a joyful place to work and building relationships with the clients is very important to me." - Pattie (Volunteer)
