"At Lion Heart Community, our mission is to nurture holistic well-being at the heart of New Orleans. Guided by our visionary founder, Mac McCall, we are committed to infusing the principles of Mind, Body, and Spirit into the fabric of our community. With a special emphasis on empowering our youth, we strive to create a culture of resilience, compassion, and growth. Through innovative programs and partnerships, we aim to uplift individuals and families, fostering a thriving community!

Currently, the youth are leading the movement with our Lion Cubs program! We have been traveling to schools to ignite the mission to create a healthier and happier world. Our newest sector of the Lion Heart Community, Lion Cubs is revolutionizing youth fitness in America with our Full Spectrum Health system which incorporates a Mind, Body, Spirit approach to wellness.

We empower the youth to create their own workout program, to choose a healthy diet and to manage their emotional well being through mindfulness practices.

Fall 2023 is our school expansion year where we will revolutionize Physical Education!

Hynes-UNO has also seen a significant decline in physical altercations and suspensions since our partnership with Lion Cubs. We have weekly sessions focusing on nutrition, exercise, meditation and mindfulness with Coach Mac.

We truly believe that the focused attention on teaching students self-regulation skills and modeling meditation and breathing has greatly changed the negative behavior when students become overwhelmed. We have seen more consistency with self-regulation skills among students over the past few sessions.

Our students have stronger skills for calming themselves when they are upset and handling upset overall. They also have learned assertiveness and how to communicate appropriately when feeling angry or upset with other students. " The workshop provided by Lion Heart Community was a great addition to our Physical Education Curriculum. Students were engaged and active throughout the session. The workshop helped students gain mindfulness techniques. I've observed students continue to use the techniques to regulate their emotions, which has helped tremendously with behavior. "Coach Mac has been working with St. Alphonsus School this past year. We do not have Physical Education as part of our curriculum so he has been filling that void by working with grades 3rd -7th. He gives the students exercise, diet and mindfulness homework to do outside of school. I have noticed the students are managing their emotions and communicating in healthier more mature manner. When he first started his Movement and Meditation Class, there were only 5 members present and now there is over 25 members in his class every Wednesday.
