LOAVES AND FISHES INC.

Each week we prepare meals to serve the homeless. Our menu is typically macaroni & cheese, green beans and fried chicken. We prepare the food in the kitchen of our 500 E Caldwell St building in downtown Louisville. The needs of the homeless and less fortunate are many and a warm meal is a small but important way for them to experience God’s love for them. We also offer donated clothing and household furniture to support the economically disadvantaged. Loaves & Fishes serves veterans, the mentally disabled, families facing difficult times and those in need of a fortifying meal. 
 
 

Who We Are

In the year 2000, Curtis Taylor was downhearted by unemployment. As he pondered his situation, Curtis saw a homeless man root in a trash can and then dine on a half-eaten discarded hamburger. As many of us realize throughout our lives, Curtis realized that relative to this man, his situation was not that dire. Witnessing this event inspired Curtis to start a feeding ministry. He began by distributing left over church meals from the trunk of his car. This simple act of love has grown into the organization it is today, providing 200 freshly prepared meals every Saturday night and a distribution program that serves over 10,000 people in the community annually.
