For the past 13 years, Madre Latina Organization Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has been a pillar of hope, empowerment, and transformation in the Waterbury community.

What began with a simple but powerful mission—to educate and empower generations of Latinas—has grown into a movement that is changing lives every single day. Through our work, we help women, youth, and families build stronger futures rooted in education, opportunity, and leadership.

Year-round, both in person and online, Madre Latina delivers programs that foster leadership development, celebrate diversity, and strengthen professional pathways. Every workshop, seminar, and community event is intentionally designed to create meaningful impact and lasting change for the individuals and families we serve.

One of our most powerful initiatives is our Youth Leadership Program, which equips middle and high school students with leadership skills, confidence, and civic engagement experience. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we proudly awarded 12 scholarships last year to outstanding students pursuing higher education. This year, we are committed to awarding 10 to 15 scholarships—continuing to open doors for students whose dreams depend on access to opportunity.

But the need remains urgent.

Latinos are the largest and fastest-growing minority group in the United States, yet they continue to face some of the lowest college completion rates. Nearly half of Latino undergraduate students are the first in their families to attend college, often without the guidance needed to successfully navigate the path to higher education.

Madre Latina exists to change that reality.

We go beyond supporting students—we empower entire families. We provide college readiness education, connect students to scholarships and essential resources, and guide families through systems that can often feel overwhelming. We serve as a bridge between potential and achievement, ensuring that students are not alone in their journey.

Madre Latina Organization Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 2011. Our purpose is to promote the advancement of Latino women in education, personal and professional development.

Continue educational activities are fundamental to the work of Madre Latina Organization Inc. Madre Latina Organization Inc. achieves its mission to educate and empower generation of Latinas through leadership development, community services, education, advocacy, and these other programs.
