Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer - Northwest

Mission

Our mission at Make Some Noise - Northwest is to raise critical funding for childhood cancer cure research and help create greater public awareness of pediatric cancer within the region.

Childhood cancer rates increase 6% each year, but the NIH budget continues to shrink, and all forms of kids cancer research see less than 4% of the shrinking budget. We play a VITAL role in helping bridge the funding gap to help keep cure research moving forward.

Description

Our all-volunteer non-profit organization conducts fundraisers and awareness campaigns in the PNW region to raise critically needed childhood cancer research funds.  We are a Washington State non-profit charitable corporation, a registered 501(c)(3) (EIN# 45-4926403). We are a chapter of the national foundation Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation, Inc., founded by an eleven-year old fighting cancer.  Organizationally, we consist of a founding Board of Directors and a Junior Board of high school aged young people.  We raise private contributions to fund pediatric cancer research in Seattle, currently helping to fund the clinical trials of relapsed leukemia and neuroblastoma patients conducted by the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research laboratories of Seattle Children's Hospital Research Foundation.  As only 3% of research funding goes to children's cancers, our goal is to continue to raise critically needed funds and support this promising T cell immunotherapy research.  We are "all-in" with the hospital's multi-year STRONG AGAINST CANCER CAMPAIGN which supports this specific research. We Grant 100% of every dollar received in contributions.

Recognition

Since 2011, Seattle Children's Hospital has recognized Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer as an annual Circle of Care donor, to-date granting over $300,000.00 locally to childhood cancer research.
