Martha's Home

Martha’s Home is a shelter for women and women with children who find themselves in a temporarily homeless situation. Martha’s Home provides for our resident’s present needs while guiding them to their future success. Martha’s Home offers a hand up, not a handout to the individuals we serve. 

On average, Martha’s Home meets the needs of 100-125 women and women with children annually. Martha’s Home believes that education can break the cycle of poverty and homelessness leading to a lifestyle of self-sufficiency for generations. Since 1987, Martha’s Home has helped over 150 women return to school and several have received a GED, a certificate, 2-year or 4-year degree. 

Martha’s Home priority is the health and well-being of the residents and their children. It is the goal of Martha’s Home that every individual discovers their worth and purpose, leading them to self-sufficiency and a successful future. Our unique concentration on helping women finish their education provides that pathway to help our residents obtain their dreams. Martha’s Home believes by increasing the focus on education and meeting the current needs.

Who We Are

In a world of poverty where you don’t know when or if you’ll eat again, or where you’ll sleep when darkness falls, Martha’s Home steps in and provides refuge, safety and security, a home for those without one, and a wide range of programs to help women and children in need rebuild their lives and re-enter society as self-sufficient and responsible citizens.
In addition to caring for the daily physical needs of our residents, Martha’s Home offers more than just a hand out, we give a hand up. We offer case management, referral services, life necessities, and housing assistance. We encourage women to empower themselves, both emotionally and physically, realizing their unique potential. The women at Martha’s Home are diligently working to further their education, secure full-time employment, and gain personal living skills to become productive members of our community.
