The organization's mission is to develop and strengthen the general welfare of residents in Central City of New Orleans, Louisiana through the provision of housing, education, economic development, and social services. The services offered are guided by the principle that everyone regardless of race, gender, or social/economic status should have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life.

Dr. Murphy W. McCaleb Educational Fund, Inc. "McCaleb" is a faith-based, non-profit organization that houses chronically homeless, disabled, elderly and low-income people of all races, all faiths, all genders and all sexual persuasions. Most, if not all, of our residents have some sort of disability - mental, physical, or addiction.

McCaleb has been helping the less fortunate since 1989 and operates five apartment complexes, totaling 129 safe and affordable permanent supportive housing units throughout New Orleans. McCaleb also provides supportive services such as case management, referrals and counseling so that our residents can live productive, healthy and independent lifestyles.

McCaleb serves a vital resource for community needs through the successful operation of various program funded solely from donations and grants.
