Mental Health Lou & You

At Mental Health Lou & You, we do more than just talk about mental health—we bring it to life in our community.

Founded in 2018, our mission began with a simple yet powerful idea: to celebrate mental health in Louisville through accessible, community-driven events. What started as a collaboration between local mental health advocates to host events during Mental Health Awareness Month (May), quickly grew into a small nonprofit where we offer resources, help people connect with providers and host workshops and events promoting mental health care and tools. 

What makes us different? We don’t just provide information—we create connections. Through our Resource Guide, we offer a one-stop hub for mental wellness resources in the greater Louisville area, making it easier for people to find the support they need. We partner with trusted organizations like Louisville Free Public Library and Catholic Charities to bring our programs directly to the communities that need them most.

In 2022, we took a bold step forward by establishing Mental Health Lou & You to expand our reach. Our work now includes free group counseling for vulnerable populations, like the guests of Up for Women and Families, and hosting Mindfest, Louisville’s premier community mental health festival.

Our impact is real, and it’s growing. We’re dedicated to ensuring that mental wellness resources are accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances. From educational workshops to wellness events, every initiative we undertake is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive.
