At Mercy Ships our ships are state-of-the-art facilities offer clean water, reliable electricity and medical care centers. We're able to sail a modern hospital ship with a crew of 400 volunteers directly to people who lack access to first-rate medical care. Up to 69% of citizens in Sub-Saharan African nations like Togo and Guinea live on less than $2 per day. Healthcare is simply not an option, either because it does not exist or it is completely unaffordable.

Mercy Ships began sailing on our mission to provide hope and healing to the world's forgotten poor in 1978. Each year, we've been able to reach more people to provide life-changing surgeries. Last year, 2,792 life-changing surgeries were performed, as well 19,309 dental procedures. Over 35,488 potential patients were screened for surgery, and over 1,820 local African healthcare professional were trained.
