Maternal & Family Health Services

During NEPA Gives 2025, MFHS needs your help. Through your support, over 100,000 women, men, and children in 17 Pennsylvania counties benefit from our healthcare services and education programs every year. Your individual donation allows us to meet the ongoing needs of individuals in our community by supporting initiatives like: hygiene products, diapers, maternity clothes, menstrual products, Uber Health, and more.

• Menstrual + hygiene products:In the United States of America, 1 in 4 teens and 1 in 3 adults struggle to afford period products. The Hygiene Pantry provides feminine hygiene products like pads and tampons to individuals in the community, in order to make these products more accessible;
• Diapers: Through the Diaper fund, we provide diapers to the families enrolled in our programs, as diapers are often hard to come by at food pantries and other community resources;
• Maternity clothes: Bette's Closet, is our maternity clothing closet at our Circle of Care Scranton office. Bette's Closet supplies maternity basics like pants, leggings, nursing bras, and belly bands to moms-to-be in need;
• Uber Health: Through the Uber Health initiative, we are able to provide rides to and from appointments for individuals that may not have access to reliable transportation.

We believe that all people deserve dignity in their health care, and these initiatives are an extension of that belief. We want our families to have all the supplies they need to raise happy and healthy children, and your donation will help meet these often-overlooked needs. Maternal and Family Health Services works to meet the health and nutrition needs of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s women, children and families with information, education, and quality care.

Founded in 1971, MFHS meets the ever-changing needs of women, children and families by providing essential and innovative programming that improves the quality of life for women, children and families. Today, we oversee and support a network of health and nutrition centers in 17 Pennsylvania counties, serving over 100,000 women, men and children annually through our core programs:

• WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition
• Reproductive Health
• Nurse-Family Partnership
• Pregnancy Care
• Cancer Screening
• Behavioral Health Services

Often the only available point of access to affordable, preventive care for many of the women, children and families we serve, these programs rely on support from public/private partners as well as individuals like you.
