The Minority Center for Participation & Empowerment (The Minority
Center)

The Minority Center for Participation & Empowerment is a nonprofit
community-based organization serving economically disadvantaged minority
populations throughout Delaware County. Our mission is to empower underserved
individuals and families by expanding access to education, health resources,
youth development, and critical social services.

Core Program Areas:

Education Program: The Minority Center offers
after-school tutoring for youth, ESL classes for non-native speakers,
adult literacy instruction, and computer literacy classes for all ages.
These services are designed to improve educational outcomes, workforce
readiness, and community engagement.

Health Program: Focused on prevention and early
intervention, the Minority Center health initiative provides free health
screenings, including vital sign checks, and delivers culturally relevant
health education to raise awareness about chronic diseases, mental health,
and wellness practices.

Youth Development Program: Our youth services include a
summer camp, peer counseling sessions, and recreational sports activities.
These programs aim to reduce risk factors and promote emotional
resilience, leadership, and healthy social behaviors.

Social Services & Resource
Center: The Minority Center provides a safe and accessible space where
residents can receive information, referrals, and direct assistance for
issues including gun violence, substance abuse, housing instability, and
food insecurity.

With a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, The Minority Center
serves as a trusted partner in improving the quality of life for low-income
