There is a myth only people in extreme poverty need the help of free clinics and pharmacies. The truth is most of the patients we serve come from working families. In fact, over 70% of our patients are employed or self-employed. They are simply struggling to make ends meet.

As Louisiana's oldest free clinic & pharmacy, we provide no-cost healthcare to uninsured and underinsured adults struggling with chronic disease in Northwest Louisiana. Our services include:

 Doctor visits, laboratory services, health education & pharmacy services
 Diabetic, Respiratory, & Geriatric Specialty Clinics
 Women's Health Program
 Patient Advocacy/Medical Case Management
 STI / HIV Testing
 Night and Weekend Appointment Times

Our Women's Health Program

One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Sadly, Louisiana has the 3rd highest breast cancer death rate in the nation (Louisiana Cancer Prevention). MLK Health is fighting back against breast cancer in Northwest Louisiana.

Our Women's Health Program provides free screening mammograms (& pap smears) to women without health insurance. In just the first two months of 2023, MLK Health was able to identify three uninsured women with breast cancer. Our team worked quickly to get these women into follow-up care. We can proudly say all three women are currently in the process of receiving cancer treatment. Without our Women's Health Program, these women would have gone unscreened this year.
