Morris Cares Inc.

Morris Cares Inc.  is a non-profit organization focusing on making a positive impact on the wellbeing of our community starting with addressing food insecurity in the greater Morris area.

Our food bank is now open to help with perishable and non perishable food items. Since we opened we have grown to serving  approximately 130 local people with items every month. 

The Town of Morris has a 13.5% food insecurity rate.   

The rising food cost for many families causes difficult decisions for how their money is spent.   A group of people in the Morris area decide that given this information we wanted to start a food bank that could help the people in the greater Morris  area.  We are a 100% volunteer organization.

With the anticipated food shortages due to a decrease in Federal funding to CT Foodshare we will be spending more of our fundraising dollars on food. 

This year we are looking to put our funds toward larger and more energy efficient equipment.

We partner with CT Food Rescue , CT Foodshare, Midwest Foodbank and area farms.
