At the Mountain Communities Family Resource Center (MCFRC), our sole mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in our rural mountain communities.

Our Advocates work diligently to connect clients to county, state, and federal resources to help alleviate the pressure of their crisis.

YOU can become a Community Champion today by donating!
For the fourth year, a generous donor has challenged us to get our whole community in on the spirit of Give Big Kern! We're inviting everyone to share kind acts in the community with our Kindness Calendar. For every #FrazierKind we get on social media, $1 will go to the MCFRC! Or pick up a calendar at our office at 3015 Mt. Pinos Way #201 and mark it off as you go – just remember to return it to our office to earn the MCFRC $1 for each day completed!
If you want to learn more about us, check out the MCFRC YouTube channel, and our updated website, and follow us on Facebook or Instagram!
The Family Resource Center started in 1999 after the El Tejon Unified School District received a Healthy Start Operational Grant. Community members voiced their opinions through door-to-door surveys, focus groups, community meetings and key informant interviews about family and community needs. The information gathered helped set goals to improve: Public Safety, Medical Services, Transportation, Recreation Services, and Adult Services (Education and Employment).
Our Collaborative Partners: Established during the Healthy Start Planning Grant (1997-1999) as the Mountain Communities Collaborative, we work together to bring resources to our community and provide support to the Family Resource Center. Collaborative members consist of Kern County agencies, local businesses, organizations, and community members.
