Mount Pleasant Public Library

Our mission is to provide free library service to the service area of Mount Pleasant Borough, Mount Pleasant Township, and Westmoreland County and through Access Pennsylvania, to all residents of this state. In short, our mission is to serve as "a window on the past and a door to the future. Since joining the Westmoreland County Federation of Libraries in 1999, the Library provides free service to all residents of the county and participates in Access PA.

Held every Wednesday at 1:30 pm year round our Story Hour has children explore seasonal themes through stories, activities and crafts. We focus on sensory skills, motor skills , reading, math and science concepts. Growth facilitating activities geared to younger set is done Tuesdays at 11:30 during our Lap-sit. We also have a "Book Club" discussion group, a Crochet/Knitting group, a Writer's Circle, an Genealogy group &a Chess Club meeting regularly. Additionally, we offer a panoply of special subject programs every month.
