Mountain View Band Parents Association

To support the band in general. To assist the band director. To promote band activities. To assist in fundraising for the band. To support the individual members of the band.

The Mountain View Band Parent Association supports the 140 band students at Mountain View High School and the band director. The Mountain View Parent Association has 4 teams for uniform management, fundraising, hospitality, and chaperoning. We distribute and maintain the uniforms for the 140 students, chaperone for all games and events, provide food for 8th grade band students while working with the high school band, and raise money to buy music, gas, truck rentals, and pay competition fees just to name some of the necessities. It costs about $10,000 annually to maintain the band during marching and competition season. The marching band is comprised of the musicians, color guard, and danceline and all students are supported by the organization.
Students in the band, color guard and danceline are able to support each other as well as other classmates at Mountain View High School through their performances and music. The members of this group form bonds that last a lifetime. Learning to play an instrument and be part of this inspirational group helps students to see the greater good of who they can be individually and as a whole. The skills and talents they learn can lead to future opportunities in college, military service and career.
The Arts are always under attack for funding. These students have found a love of the Arts and we as the Mountain View Band Parent Association are determined to make sure that they are given every opportunity to learn, develop and grow while at Mountain View High School.
