Louisiana Guardianship Services Inc

A nonprofit organization

Our mission is to restore dignity and peace of mind to vulnerable adults through professional guardianship and advocacy when there is nobody else.

Louisiana Guardianship Services, Inc. (LGSI) serves developmentally disabled adults and incapacitated elders across Louisiana through professional guardianship, powers of attorney, trust management, personal escrow services, and low-bono legal services. LGSI employs the only Nationally Certified Guardians in Louisiana, and is the state government's sole provider of guardianship and representative payee services. Additionally, LGSI management and board members provide public education efforts to attorneys, law students, social workers, and health care providers on the legal aspects of guardianship in Louisiana, less-restrictive alternatives to guardianship, public benefits qualifications, disability trust usage and administration, and other topics.

Since 1992, LGSI staff have worked to earn public trust in providing services to Louisiana's most vulnerable adult populations. During that time, they have earned awards for pro-bono work, National Guardian of the Year, Top Young Lawyer award, and National Guardianship Association Leadership awards.
