$18,500 Goal

The Stoner Avenue Bridge House began in the late 1950's to fill a need for a men's halfway house in the recovery community. The Bridge House was formally incorporated as a non-profit entity in 1962. For over 60 years, The Bridge House has been a safe and sober home for men struggling with alcohol and drug addiction who have demonstrated a sincere desire to restore their lives and work toward a happy and productive life.
The Bridge House provides the Shreveport/Bossier area with a recovery-based environment focused on a 12-step program. We believe every man should have a safe, structured and affordable residential facility where they are free of all mind and mood altering substances and have the opportunity to find a new way of life. It is not a permanent residence; rather it is a stepping-stone along the road of recovery between a treatment facility and true independence.
It is not a hospital, a mission center, or a detoxification facility but rather halfway house that can accommodate a maximum of 8 men at a time. While living here, the residents learn to implement a program of recovery into their lives.
The Bridge House provides an atmosphere of understanding and help, not just from other residents, but also from caring volunteers and men who once were residents of the house and are now living sober, productive lives.
