Melissa Youth Onstage

MYO started as an after school program in association with the schools. When that association ended there was still a need for a performing arts program in Melissa for the students who are talented in the areas of voice and acting. MYO was started to fill this need for students ages 8-16. MYO offers a full season of plays, musicals, variety shows and tours for its students. The Philosophy of MYO is that students learn a number of life skills while performing and these are stressed along with the actual shows. Theatre is an expensive undertaking and our organization makes its money through ticket sales, sponsorships, and a small $25 fee charged for each show. This is  less than 10% of what other groups charge because we believe no student should be left out of performing simply because of the cost. There are no paid staff at MYO, parents and students assist in costumes and props and learn responsibility for themselves. We hope to make enough money to cover our royalties for the year ($4000) so that we can present our full season the way it should be done. Any donation helps.
