Native Americans Against Drugs and Alcohol Corp. (NAADA) has been a dream of mine for over 20 years. Now that my children are grown, I want to encourage and help other children reach their dreams. NAADA is a newer Non-Profit and we are in the kindergarten stage, however we have been teaming up with the Warrior Movement and the Sacred Walk Initiative for several years. This year NAADA sponsored Issac Fisher and the Flight Squad to perform at Park High and SGMS. NAADA is rebuilding and rebranding. One of the main objectives of NAADA is educating youth about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Drugs and alcohol are destroying Families. New drugs are coming in as well as new gangs. It is important to protect our youth. Many children are being raised by their Grandparents as their parents are lost in addiction or in a few cases the parent has disappeared and never found. It is heartbreaking that these children have experienced so much heartache so early! NAADA wants them to succeed and flourish!!! NAADA wants to support and encourage them and show them that dreams can come true and that they need to go after their dreams, that they have a chance for a different life! 4

We are new to the Non-Profit sector; however, we are not new to watching children reach for their dreams and attaining them. Last year we joined with the Warrior Movement and took a girls and boys basketball team to Arizona to participate in NABI. The tournament was a blast. The kids had different education sessions as well as lots of basketball! They had a dance and a parade. The kids got to play with and against new players, they got see a big city! Such a different lifestyle. Brendon Johnson from Livingston said, "The tournament was incredible, I got to meet so many different players from so many different states. I learned a lot from the classes and formed lots of friends."
