We work with clinical partners to reduce out-of-pocket costs for uninsured and underinsured neighbors; assistance is based on eligibility and available funds.
Screening and timely follow-up save lives. In the U.S., breast cancer deaths have dropped ~44% since 1989—progress linked to earlier detection and better treatment. Yet too many neighbors still face barriers: cost, lost wages, language, and transportation. Your Spring2ACTion gift helps fund screening mammograms and diagnostic testing, covers rides to appointments, and provides plain-language support so families understand next steps. In our region, disparities are real—for example, in D.C., breast cancer mortality for Black women has been nearly twice that of white women. Together, we can close those gaps and keep care within reach for Alexandria and Northern Virginia.
$25 helps provide bus fare or a rideshare to a screening or diagnostic appointment.
$50 helps cover translation/interpretation or a copay for imaging.
$100 helps fund screening mammography for an uninsured neighbor through our clinical partners.
$250 helps fund diagnostic testing (such as ultrasound or additional imaging) when a screening flags a concern.
$500 helps sustain a week of screening/diagnostic assistance and transportation for multiple neighbors.
Note: dollar impacts are illustrative and may support the area of greatest need. Clinical services are delivered by licensed providers through partner clinics; assistance depends on eligibility and available funds.
Alexandria is generous—and diverse. Many neighbors still face language, transportation, and financial barriers that delay care. Your Spring2ACTion gift keeps support local, fast, and culturally responsive so families can focus on healing and hope.
Screening & diagnostics access: financial assistance with screening mammograms and diagnostic tests for uninsured/underinsured neighbors through partner clinics.
Transportation & practical support: rides, transit passes, and treatment‑day needs so care is not delayed.
Plain‑language guidance: help understanding next steps and connecting to trusted resources (not medical advice).
Community partnerships: linking clinics, social services, and local groups so support is easy to find.
