NCCJ St. Louis

A nonprofit organization

OUR VISION
Our vision is a better community for all of us, not just for some of us.

OUR WORK
To create inclusive, representative communities through leadership and education. We partner with individuals, organizations, networks, and corporations to help them make institutional change in their corner of the community. We empower leaders for diversity and inclusion, for equity and justice, so that all people will have access to our nation's opportunities and be included in its promise.

All NCCJ educational programs are built on these four pillars:
Increase participants' knowledge of the systemic dynamics of diversity, equity, and exclusion
Raise participants' self-awareness about their own experiences based on social identity
Build relationships across difference-relationships that are rooted in real conversations about diversity and social justice
Motivate and prepare participants to take action that promotes inclusion, equity, and social justice

NCCJ's Programs Build Leadership. Our hallmark Institute model engages participants in multiple day retreats where they are immersed in learning and reflection on diversity and inclusion. Whether with the Inclusion Institute for Healthcare™ (IIH), the Inclusion Institute for Educators™ (IIE), or the Anytown™ Youth Leadership Institute for high school students, the institutes are unrivaled in their ability to develop leaders and change agents.

NCCJ's Programs Build Capacity. Our FaciliTrainer Certification Program™ (FTCP) bridges cultural competence, social justice, and the development of skills needed to teach others about diversity, social identities, inclusion, and equity. This intensive 12-day course builds awareness of how experiences shape participants' biases and interactions, building relationships among participants from diverse identity groups, thus motivating and preparing leaders to reach others in their corner of the community. Those who successfully complete the FTCP are awarded the credential CDFT (Certified Diversity FaciliTrainer).

NCCJ's Programs Build Support. Our Building Inclusive Communities™ (BIC) workshop series brings aspects of our curriculum to the public and to our partners, helping to build capacity and motivation to take action that promotes inclusion and equity. The BIC™ Foundations and Interrupting Racism™ are daylong workshop are scheduled throughout the year and are open to the public. These workshops, and tailored workshops on many topics, can be contracted as half-day or daylong workshops for our partner organizations.
