New Conservatory Theatre Center (NCTC) has been in operation since 1981. NCTC provides the San Francisco community with high-quality youth education programming, Queer & Allied theatre, children’s theatre, and new work commissions. NCTC’s annual operating budget is approximately 2 million.
NCTC is a creative hub for the queer community, an incubator for new works and emerging artists, and a center of innovative arts education and outreach for youth. Through our artistic and educational programs, NCTC inspires and leads the conversation and informs the community of important issues affecting the queer community and its allies.
Still led by our Founding Artistic Director, Ed Decker, NCTC is a center for exploring and developing work that engages, challenges, and captivates.
We are a voice of and a welcoming home for the entire queer community.
Our mission is to champion innovative, high-quality productions & educational theatre experiences for youth, artists, and the queer & allied communities to effect personal & societal growth, enlightenment, and change.
Our vision is that theatre is a community event and a way to build community.
