NEBHDCo Community Programs provide pantry distributions of shelf-stable goods and fresh produce. To provide community services that are free of cost, educational and geared towards the enhancement of the community itself i.e. professional development classes, beautification of the passive garden, dance classes, yoga classes etc. The community programs and initiatives are currently focused on two areas: promoting healthy food and living, and providing tenant and community support.
The pantry provides emergency food and benefits support in a state of the art 2-story facility. During-Covid we migrated to a socially-distanced operation making up and handing out a full bag of pantry staples and full bag of fresh produce along with poultry or beef for every visitor. We also have a mobile food pantry program where we deliver both pantry staples and fresh produce to home-bound seniors, disabled and parolees.
This year we join Brooklyn Gives again seeking support for our toy drive along with general support to the Golden Harvest Pantry that serves at least 500 families on a weekly basis. Pantry operations include our Mobile Pantry Program that enables us to provide monthly pantry food home delivery to our Senior and Disabled Clients - Along with our Saturday for Working People that let us have an extra distribution on a Saturday for people who cannot attend during normal pantry hours.
