The Nebraska Firefighter Museum & Education Center is dedicated to the courageous firefighters of our state -- Past, Present, And Future Our Mission is to preserve Nebraska's firefighting heritage, to foster public understanding of the impact and benefit of firefighting in regards to saving lives and property, to educate individuals of all ages about fire prevention and fire safety, and to memorialize the lives of fallen firefighters and EMS personnel.

After decades of work to save the rich heritage of firefighting in Nebraska which included vintage apparatuses, artifacts and photo and written archive materials, The Nebraska Firefighter Museum & Education Center opened in 2009 with the Nebraska Firefighter & EMS Memorial behind the Museum, opening a short time after that.

In over 15 years of operation we have become a destination spot not just in our state but from around the country. From school groups to senior citizen groups, families on vacation, visiting firefighters from all over, and just curious travelers, we have seen thousands of visitors from across the country and from around the world.

One of the attractions that keeps visitors coming back each year is our annual rotation of fire apparatuses. This allows us to showcase a variety of vehicles from across the state, including some rarely seen outside local parades.

Through various interactive events throughout the year, we help support our First Responders and partner with various public service agencies such as Nebraska Fire Depts. & the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, CHI Health EMS personnel and the local law enforcement agencies.

A great place to learn the history & heritage of the Nebraska Firefighter and EMS members.
This is a place to honor the fallen Firefighters and EMS, who gave their life to save another, so that they wont be forgotten.

Very neat place to visit! They have a place for kids to play and a fire education area. Highly recommend stopping by! Lots of Nebraska Firefighter history. - Jeralynn Lucht

Excellent! They have many historical pieces of equipment that I've only seen in books. Lots of local historical photos. The timeline on the back wall is very informative and well done. One of the nicest fire museums I've been to. Well, worth the stop and time. - Pamela Moore
