Newgate Mission

Newgate Mission is holistically rebuilding the lives of the homeless, low-income, and marginalized populations of Longview, Texas, and surrounding areas. A safe, Christ-centered community, Newgate is a day mission that is open to all, serving approximately 225-300 people every day, and providing compassion, hope, and renewed dignity.

Newgate is a faith-based day mission and soup kitchen that serves the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of the homeless, low-income, and marginalized population in Longview. We touch the lives of nearly 225-300 people a day. Through donations and volunteers, we provide meals 7 days a week along with fresh produce and groceries. We provide clothing and hygiene products. We offer health classes, medical checkups, mail service and sewing classes. We assist our community members in securing housing, medical care, employment and other services such our Bike to Work program. Classes offered include job preparation, budgeting, nutrition and basic life skills. Newgate helps with prescription and eyeglass assistance. Transportation is provided to appointments and job interviews.
As a faith-based mission, we hold church services and Bible studies. Newgate provides a computer lab for job searches and offers washer/dryer service and showers to those in need. Each day we strive to meet the needs of those who come through our doors. All at no cost.
