We believe that Research Drives Informed Decisions.
Each year, NHCEH publishes The State of Homelessness in NH, a comprehensive analysis of the state’s homelessness data. This annual report evaluates and presents data related to specific populations experiencing homelessness (ie. families, aging adults, youth and students, individuals living unsheltered), provides comparisons to data from past years and details changes in economic and demographic trends on both the state and regional level. The report is a trusted data source that is used by service providers, academics, policymakers, and citizens. It is an unbiased, transparent, and impactful tool which informs the discussion around homelessness and contributes to the development and implementation of strategies for generating positive change.
NHCEH shares evidence-based best practice resources to help educate and support the work of service providers and stakeholders in addressing and preventing homelessness and aiding transitions to housing stability. NHCEH also works to disseminate current information on the state of homelessness to all NH citizens in an effort to empower every resident to effect positive change. We provide updates and information on policy changes, bills before the Senate and House and opportunities for citizens to make their voice heard. Finally, our Hope Starts Here program provides scholarships to students who have experienced homelessness, helping to make post-secondary education accessible and achievable for students in need of financial support.
NHCEH is a consistent, informed voice in statewide conversations about homelessness. The Coalition actively engages in the provision of supporting data for Federal and State policy initiatives as well as testimony to the NH Legislature on bills affecting those experiencing homelessness and housing instability in the state. Through the Granite Leaders program, we train those who have experienced homelessness to advocate for change by using their voice and sharing their experience.
